COLUMBUS — A top Ohio state senator has introduced a bill calling for a further expansion of the state’s medical marijuana program.
Senate Health Chairman Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City), and a physician, introduced a bill this week that would include under the list of qualifying conditions arthritis, migraines, autism spectrum disorder and any medical ailment determined by a licensed physician.
Huffman’s bill would also put regulation of medical marijuana solely under the Department of Commerce and remove the current, additional oversight by the state pharmacy board.
The bill introduction comes as advocates for legalizing recreational marijuana push a 2022 ballot measure.
