Man dies after being shot while riding in car

COLUMBUS – A man who was shot while riding in a vehicle on the Southeast Side Thursday afternoon died later at the hospital, according to Columbus police.

Malik Price was a passenger in the car when the occupants of another vehicle opened fire on the car at the intersection of Courtright Road and Petzinger Court just after 4:00 p.m., Homicide Unit Sgt. James Marable said.

After the shooting, Price, 27, was driven to Mount Carmel East Hospital by a 25-year-old man whose name was not released.

Price died at the hospital just before 5:00 p.m., Marable said

The circumstances that led up to the shooting are currently under investigation.

This is the 144th homicide in Columbus Ohio in Calendar Year 2021.
