COLUMBUS – A 23-year-old man drowned in the Big Darby Creek after authorities say he lost his footing while wading in the creek near Darbydale Saturday.
Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin says three men waded into the creek just south of the canoe launch located in the 8400 block of Alkire Road and two of the men made it back to land safely but the third did not.
Divers with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Dive and Rescue Team found the man’s body Sunday afternoon, according to posts on the sheriff’s office social media feeds.
