COLUMBUS – A 37-year-old man who was shot on the East Side Tuesday night died early Wednesday morning, becoming the 70th homicide victim in Columbus in 2021.
Taureen Tinsley was found in a home in the 800 block of James Road by officers responding to a report of three to six gunshots being fired just after 6:20 p.m., Sgt. James Marable of the Homicide Unit said.
Tinsley was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body and died at a local hospital at 3:59 a.m. Wednesday, Marable said.

UPDATE 5/14/21 7:17 a.m.: Police have arrested a man they say shot another man to death in the parking lot of a Southwest Side apartment complex on May 1.
Homicide Unit detectives filed an arrest warrant charging Isiaha Sanders, 28, with murder in the death of 24-year-old Terrance Jewell, who was shot while walking across the parking lot of the apartment complex in the 4600 block of Glen Cove Lane just after 9:30 p.m., Marable said.
Police are investigating a double shooting in Franklinton late Wednesday that left a 15-year-old injured.
The teen told police that he had been involved in a fight at the address in the 1300 block of W. State Street just after 11:00 p.m. when someone not involved in the altercation fired several shots at the teen and a 39-year-old man, Det. Bob McCotter of the Felony Assault Unit said.
The 15-year-old boy suffered a single gunshot wound to his left ankle and the man was shot multiple times in the right side of his body, McCotter said. Both victims were in stable condition at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and are expected to survive their injuries.
