COLUMBUS — Police say a shooting at a White Castle restaurant on the Hilltop left the manager dead and an employee wounded.
The shooting happened Friday morning at the White Castle on W. Broad Street at Wilson Road just before 6:00 a.m.
The manager, 30-year-old Amanda Rush, was pronouced dead at the scene, raising the total number of homicides in Columbus this year to 133.
Police say the other employee was taken to Doctors West Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Police say the gunman then tried to rob a nearby Certified gas station
and also fired shots into the PNC Bank at 3500 W. Broad Street before he surrendered to police.
A 37-year-old woman was uninjured when her vehicle was struck by gunfire from the suspect while driving eastbound on W. Broad Street.
Mark Reynolds, 29, was charged with murder and transported to the Franklin County Jail.
