COLUMBUS – The homicide total in Columbus for 2021 advanced closer to the record number set last year.
Police say an unidentified man in his 20’s was found lying in the yard of an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Refugee Road just after 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, the 171st homicide victim of the year.
There were 175 homicides in Columbus in 2020.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his arm in an unrelated incident.
The teen was found in the area of E. 12th Avenue and Accommodation Avenue on the Northeast Side just after 2:00 a.m. Wednesday.
