COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes remained No. 3 in both major college football polls after burying Wisconsin 52-21 in their Big Ten opener Saturday night.
Georgia remained No. 1, despite beating Kent State in less than dominating fashion, followed by Alabama. Michigan and Clemson held their places at No. 4 and No. 5.
Oklahoma’s upset loss to Kansas State created room for teams to move up in the AP Top 25, like No. 6 Southern California and No. 7 Kentucky.
Tennessee moved up three to No. 8.
Oklahoma State remained at nine and North Carolina State jumped to No. 10.
The Buckeyes (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) cap a five-game home stand with a 3:30 p.m. game Saturday against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-1, 0-1 Big Ten) at Ohio Stadium. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.
Eichenberg earns Big Ten honors
Linebacker Tommy Eichenberg was named Big Ten co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the win over the Badgers.
The Cleveland St. Ignatius High School product recorded a season high 14 total tackles, including two tackles for loss.
