COLUMBUS — Rodrigo Schlegel’s goal proved to be the game-winner as Orlando City picked up a 2-0 win over the Columbus Crew.
Schlegel opened the scoring with 10 minutes to go in the first half when he found himself unmarked in front of the goal and easily tapped home a headed ball across the box to give the Lions (4-2-2) the lead.
The Crew (2-3-2) will travel to play a third round U.S. Open Cup match against Detroit City FC of the USL Championship on Tuesday.
