COLUMBUS – With local blood supplies at a low due to COVID-19, the organizers of the annual “Blood Battle” between Ohio State and “That Team Up North” is looking for organizations to host blood drives.

Versiti Blood Center of Ohio, blood supplier to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is urging central Ohio organizations to host a blood drive during the event, which runs from Oct. 28 to Nov. 25.

The 2020 OSU v. Michigan Blood Battle aims to collect 1,500 units of blood.

Interested organizations should contact Versiti by Oct. 18.

Individuals can book an appointment to donate blood at the Schottenstein Center kickoff event on Oct. 28 from 10:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m. or walk in.

Basic requirements include a location for the drive that meets Versiti’s requirements, a minimum of 30 committed donors and a convenient time for donors to give blood.
