COLUMBUS – Police caught up with three juveniles, ages 12 to 14, who led officers on a chase in a stolen car on the Northeast Side Wednesday and one of the officers gave one of the kids a piece of his mind.
As the boys were being led away following their arrests just after 4:20 p.m., an officer is heard to scold one of them: “Bad day for you all. Do you know how many people are sick and tired of this crap? Do you know how many people you almost killed today?”

Police say an OSU student told them he was visiting a friend just and left his Audi Q8 car running in a parking garage on Lane Avenue. Witnesses reported that boys got in and drove off.
The car was spotted about four minutes later in the area of Billiter Drive and Duxberry Avenue.
With the 12-year-old behind the wheel, the youths fled from police, who pursued them in the air with a helicopter and with cruisers on the ground until officers were able to deploy spike strips at the off-ramp from I-71 southbound to E. 17th Avenue and bring the car to a halt, according to information from Columbus Division of Police social media sites.
The driver was charged with receiving stolen property and his 13- and 14-year-old passengers were charged with motor vehicle theft and receiving stolen property, police said.
Police say the oldest youth had cut off an ankle monitor before the incident.
