Police: 12 persons of interest sought in gas station shooting

COLUMBUS – Columbus homicide detectives have released photos of a dozen people they say are persons of interest in the deadly shooting of a man outside a Northeast Side convenience store Sunday.

Using photos and video of the incident, police have identified 12 persons of interest in the shooting outside the Sheetz gas station in the 1400 block of N. Cassady Avenue early Sunday morning and they are asking anyone who recognizes any of the people in the photos (above) to contact police at 614-774-7810 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).

Kevin Sobnosky was driving with two other men in the area of the convenience store at approximately 3:50 a.m. when their vehicle was struck by gunfire coming from the parking area of a nearby business, police said.

Sobnosky, 21, died of his injuries at 4:17 p.m., the 119th homicide in Columbus this year.

Murder suspect arrested in South Carolina

A 30-year-old man is awaiting extradition back to Ohio after being arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found inside a vehicle outside a Far East Side home in 2020.

Jacoby Howard was arrested in Greenville, S.C., by the US Marshals Service after being indicted on charges including murder and tampering with evidence stemming from the fatal shooting of Brian Robertson, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit said.
