COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a woman who was apparently a victim of domestic violence stabbed a man during a dispute on the Southeast Side Friday morning, one of two weekend homicides detectives were investigating.

Larry Scott, 44, was a suspect in a domestic violence situation involving the woman and was attacking her again when she stabbed him in an apartment on Bixby Woods Court at approximately 8:45 a.m., Sgt. Eric Pilya said.
Scott died later at Mount Carmel East Medical Center.
The woman’s name was also not released and there was no indication that charges were being filed.
The second homicide victim of the weekend was a man gunned down on a West Side street by someone in a moving vehicle, Sgt. Jeffrey Strayer said.
Officers found William Dajuan-Mario Campbell, 27, lying in the street in the 1600 block of Sullivant Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound, at approximately 7:41 p.m. He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he died later, Strayer said.
Witnesses told police Campbell had been chased into the street where he was shot from a moving vehicle which drove away southbound on Ryan Avenue.
This was the 24th homicide in Columbus in 2020.
