Then ranked No. 8, Penn State threw two interceptions, missed two field goals, lost a fumble, muffed a punt and fumbled a kickoff – and slipped 10 spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 18 while the Buckeyes moved up two spots to No. 3.

It was the Hoosiers’ first victory against a team ranked in the AP top 10 since 1987 and propelled them to the No. 17 spot in the weekly AP College Football Poll, Indiana’s highest ranking since 1993.

There are five Big Ten teams in the poll this week. Along with Ohio State, Indiana and Penn State, Wisconsin moved up to No. 9 and Michigan, winners at Minnesota Saturday night, is No. 13.

Still-unbeaten Cincinnati moved up two spots to No. 7 after beating SMU.

Clemson remained a rock-solid No. 1 and Alabama was No. 2. No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Georgia each slipped a spot behind the Buckeyes.

Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Florida round out the top 10.
