COLUMBUS – The actual holiday is nearly a week away but Columbus City Council will celebrate Proclamation Day today.
The city “celebrates its Irish community and officially recognizes March 17th as St. Patrick’s Day” during the ceremony.
“We’re honored to welcome the Shamrock Club back to City Hall as they prepare for March 17th St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Family Reunion,” council president Shannon Hardin said.
The city will also recognize former City Clerk Timothy McSweeney as the Grand Marshal of the 2022 St. Patrick’s Day parade.
The parade will be held downtown beginning at 11:30 a.m. on March 17.
