NASHVILLE – The Clippers ended up on the losing end of another high-scoring game at Nashville’s First Horizon Park Wednesday.
A day after beating the Sounds, 19-2, Columbus saw it’s final rally of the night come up short in a 15-14 loss.
The Clippers clawed their way back from a 9-3 deficit to take a 14-11 lead on a Daniel Schneemann RBI single in the top of the ninth inning. Schneemann drove in a total of four runs on two hits.
That lead evaporated as relivers Randy Labaut (0-1) and Jason Billous delivered four walks and an error by catcher Bryan Lavastida allowed Tyrone Taylor to race home from third base with the winning run.
Taylor, Abraham Toro and Keston Hiura hit home runs as Nick Bennett (1-0) picked up the win.
