COLUMBUS – A ninth-inning rally fell short for the Clippers as they lost to the Omaha Storm Chasers, 7-5, Sunday in the finale of a six-game series.
The Storm Chasers won four of the games at Huntington Park.
Omaha took a 7-1 lead when they jumped on Peyton Battenfield (0-3) for five runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by two-run blasts by Adeiny Hechevarria and Nick Loftin.
Battenfield surrendered seven home runs in 7 1/3 innings.
The Clippers battled back in the ninth, scoring three runs on a triple by Raynel Delgado and a single by Brayan Rocchio and helped by an error by Omaha third-baseman Clay Dungan, but Will Klein got Bryan Lavastida swinging for the final out.
