COLUMBUS – An 18-year-old man has been arrested for murder in the shooting death of a woman inside a West Side address Wednesday morning, police said.
Officer, deputy open fire on suspect
Ramarian Clark surrendered to an officer in a cruiser at Broad Street and Central Avenue following the death of Courtney Prestige, Sgt. Eric Pilya of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
This was the 181st homicide in Columbus in 2021.
Prestige, 25, was found by officers inside the home in the 100 block of Brehl Avenue just after 8:00 a.m.
She had been shot multiple times, Pilya said.
Three men were recovering after being shot in separate incidents in Columbus Wednesday.
Suspect in September murder under arrest
Columbus police say the suspect in a fatal shooting in September is behind bars.
Garland Williams was arrested by Columbus SWAT officers on a murder charge stemming from the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man on Sept. 12, Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Homicide Unit said.
Guann Gregory was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Brookway Road and died later at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.
Williams, 45, was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon and taken to the Franklin County Jail, Powell said.
