COLUMBUS – A 13-year-old boy who was shot while walking a dog is expected to recover from his injuries, according to police.
The teenager was shot from someone in a passing vehicle in the area of 2000 Winslow Drive, on the Southeast Side, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, detectives with the Columbus police Felony Assault Unit said.
The victim told police that he was walking a dog when a dark colored vehicle drove by and someone inside fired a shot which struck the victim in the neck area, police said.
The teen was driven by a neighbor to an area hospital, he is expected to survive his wounds, police said.
This incident is still under investigation.
