Two shot over long weekend

COLUMBUS – Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents over the July Fourth holiday weekend, raising the death toll for the year in Columbus to 65.

Officers found an unidentified man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound lying in an alley in the 900 block of Lilley Avenue at approximately 2:51 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Edward Powell of the Columbus police homicide unit said.

UPDATE 7/6/22 9:50 a.m.: The victim in this homicide has been identified as Garrett Richardson, 18.

A 32-year-old man was shot early Sunday on the Northeast Side.

At approximately 12:21 a.m., officers investigating a report of shots fired in the 3100 Block of Sterling Lane found Henry Moore suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Powell said.

Moore died later at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.
