COLUMBUS – No. 22/19 Ohio State fell behind early and never caught up in a 77-58 loss to 7th-ranked Michigan in a Big Ten women’s basketball game at Value City Arena Thursday night.
Jacy Sheldon led the Buckeyes (15-4, 7-3 Big Ten) with 15 points, while Tanaya Beacham finished one point shy of her season-high with 14 points.
Sheldon has scored in double figures in every game this season and Beacham reached double figures for the sixth time.
The Wolverines (18-2, 9-1) jumped out to an 11-point lead, widening it to 15 points by halftime.
The Buckeye defense held Michigan without a field goal for nearly four minutes in the fourth quarter but trailed 71-43 with 4:15 to play and could not close the gap despite finishing the game on a 15-3 run.
