COLUMBUS – Saturday, June 20, is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year and, conversely, its shortest night.
Columbus-based White Castle is marking the occasion by releasing three “Cocktails and Craves” pairings, featuring a one of the chain’s signature slider paired with a beverage from the
Coca-Cola Freestyle machines found in most restaurants.
“Orange Afterglow” (right) is a mix of beer and ginger ale intended to pair with the original White Castle slider.
“Castillo Rosado Margarita” (above) – perfect with a Jalapeno Cheese Slider, the company says — combines tequila and pink lemonade.
“Midnight Merlot Punch,” to be paired with a Cheese Slider, mixes merlot and raspberry Sprite.
Customers can buy the sandwiches and soft drinks at White Castle restaurants or buy the cocktail ingredients and sliders in the freezer sections of grocery stores.
Alcohol is not included.
