COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State University President Gordon Gee is making an apology for inappropriate comments.
According to “The Columbus Dispatch,” Gee targeted Notre Dame administrators and Catholics during a meeting of the university’s athletic council last year, saying they can’t be trusted.
“I am truly sorry for my comments—such attempts at humor do not reflect Ohio State values, nor my role as its president,” Gee posted on the Twitter feed Thursday night.
Gee reportedly made the remark while apparently trashing Notre Dame and other schools who weren’t invited to join the Big Ten.
OSU trustees recently rebuked Gee, forcing the apology and placing the president on a “remediation plan.”
